Ubisoft has released three of their older games as free advertising supported releases, offering Far Cry, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and Rayman Raving Rabbits to those with free Ubi.com accounts who are willing to endure some ads in exchange for their free games.

The downloads showed up on FilePlanet, where it seems that a paid subscription is required for the download. The games are also available on Gamer's Hell (Far Cry, Sands of Time, and Raving Rabbids), and downloading and installing the games works fine. Again, the games do require a Ubicom account.

Other games have been released previously.

I downloaded Ground control 1 about a year ago. This free version did not have ads. I believe other various sierra games got release as freebies as well.

Seems to be a growing trend which is pretty good really!

Installation not possible anymore [sad]
Each time I try it, I get the following mail from ubi.com
Quote:
Thank you for downloading one of the promotional PC titles made available for ad-supported freeplay over the Labor Day weekend. The promotion is now closed and it is no longer possible to play the games for free.

If you are interested in further information on these titles, please visit our official website at [url=http://[url=www.ubi.com]www.ubi.com][url=www.ubi.com]www.ubi.com
