run into a problem on a map. It's a map with 2 castle/tower type structures, made mostly from patch meshes.
The original tower compiles and plays correctly without any glitches, but when i copy it and rotate it (with z rotate button) i get an invisible brush appearing on one of it's sloped paths.

The brush doesn't show up in the editor, but in the game it has dimensions - you can jump and walk about on it. I'd says it's dimensions are about 1000, 50, 50.

All the brushes on the rotated second tower appear normal
I've used the CSG subtract function a few times, but it hasn't created any volumeless brushes according to q3map, and i've tried copying and pasting only the required brushes into a new map just in case, but the error still happens
and nothing is filtered out apart from "blocks"

The yellow line is roughly where the invisible block appears. It's at an angle, and isn't near where the ground patches join

Hit F to show Filters > Maybe some brushes/entities aren't selected, select them and Delete your barrier.

If this doesn't work, i don't have any ideas.

Are you sure it exist in the Compiled Version and not in the Radiant (.map) version?

Yeah, nothing showing up with all the filters set up. I can't see it being in the editor, nothing is showing up in it, and the original tower doesn't have this glitch - only happens on the copied and rotated tower.

the only thing i can think of that's doing it is a rogue csg glitch, but even with patches selected, copied and rotated it happens.

tried it, but the brush still stayed. I'm rebuilding it from scratch now anyway. Cheers though

This is THE reason not to use the CSG buttons.... rotating a CSG subtracted brush often causes exactly this to happen...

except i tried rotating it without any CSGed brushes selected too.

Any CSG errors i've had, and they're always rare, are those where they give a brush with only 1 or 2 dimensions, and they always intersect with the brushes i'm using csg on - the same thing can happen when you use the clipper tool on a couple of dozen brushes at once.

The brush i'm getting in this map is no where near any csged brushes, and it has volume, but I've tried it with putting only the patches into a new map and the same thing occurs

Have you tried the solutions for infinite brushes or the such?

( draw a brush somewhere touching nothing, selecting inside and deleting? )

and I guess the compile log doesn't give you a brush number for it to try and remove manually?

Yeah. I tried the select inside trick, but it persists. Unfortunately the compile log doesn't give any info on it - the only problems that come up are lightmap - vertex errors. Stranger still, I can't find any brushes with coordinates around that area by looking at the map in a text editor. It's kinda mute now I've restarted, just hope it doesn't happen again.

ok the new map is doing it now - there's 74 patch meshes in it, 1 terrain mesh, a skybox, and a spawn and intermission. Is there a limit to how many patch planes cod can handle?
