You must scale the image to the right size, and somtimes it means that you can't use the whole image.

have you read the tutorial, cause everything is explanded in there.

ehm - i got an error with this...
first of all - i use a modified (by me) AdmiralMod (works 100% fine)
and i wanted to change the background... i follow your tut and when i start up cod2 this comes up

Code:
Error during initialization:
Create2DTexture( wm_background, 1, 1, 0, 894720068 ) failed: 8876086c = Invalid call

what is this??
wm_background is the modified background from admiralmod - but i never see this one - i only used this becouse the normal background_american_w isn't anymore in the admiral mod... i tried to copy it in and changed the gsc for both...but nothing happens....
only this error with both...
maybe my picture is wrong??
i haven't used photoshop for it - i use Paint.net ... but there is the dds plugin too (and its for free :) )

hope somebody can help!!

Quote:
photoshop or paint shop pro

Paint.NET (freeware) has build-in DDS support

i don't like PakScape at all, WinRAR and 7zip can do better

sorry, i didn't see you post.

the problem might be in the DSS export settings. you should use DXT1, 3 or 5. I'm not sure about the compression-options, hopefully doesn't matter.

what are your Asset Manager settings for the texture? HUD elements require type 2D as far as i remember.

Did you use RAR or ZIP compression for the IWD?

ok - the 1st page of this tutorial got a link to the output dds settings - but i think the link is dead!Maybe some 1 have the settings for me?!
I dont use the asset manager becoz in this tutorial is written that i've to use the ddstoiwi converter - and i did ^^
first i use zip compression and then rename it to iwd - but i think thats not the problem... i modified our clan mod succesfully :) edited weapons and the hud and so on!

got it to work now ^^ if the pic is pixilated you have to deactivate mipmaps in PaintShop Pro - now it looks good :)
