Basically the topic line sums up the problem. Since yesterday whenever I try to play CoD, after a minute or 2 of playing, the game would return to the menu and display this dialog:



This problem began occuring after I got a pop-up message from my anti-virus asking to allow pnkbstrb.exe to run, I had accidentally hit [Deny], so I figure thats what caused this problem. I tried looking for something inside the menu that prevents it from loading but couldn't find anything. Is there a way to manually restart pnkbstrb.exe so it will run again while playing?

This error sometimes accurs when PB hasn't been updated in a wile. But with the Anti Virus thing, you will have to go and allow it in your list of programs or whatever.

the same exact thing is happening to me and i updated the punkbuster and it still does it.

I think I canceled my anti-virus from blocking it, but I still get the error. Where do I update PB?

This seems to be happening to a lot of people today, like most PB problems that pop up by themselves, it will probably fix itself in due time.

try this update: http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloads/windows/pbsetup.exe

Save it and launch it. Follow the onscreen instructions to update your punkbuster client.

That's all I know about recommending. It fixed my Battlefield issues.

where do i save it???

OK, 'Hands Up' I surrender... I have tried everything that has been suggested and still cant log onto any PB server. I have never had any sort of PB error before and to be perfectly honest, i am totally F****d off with PB. Although i understand that PB can be a good thing, what the hell is the point if you cant even log on to a server. Is this a case of anti_cheat gone mad, or what??? Having had a look on the net, it seems that there are no end of people having the same problem.
