P.S i have tried turning all firewall, AV etc to off, but it makes no difference. I have also reinstalled and updated PB, all to no avail.

If some on posted this already, sorry. When was the last time you have upadated PB? Sometimes you have to update manulaly. Go to www.punkbuster.com and go to the CoD section and read how to install. I sugest you get PBsetup.exe it is really easy to use, and update PB for more than one game. So if you have Cal of Duty and Call of Duty 2 you can update both by clicking one button. Don't over complicate the script, keep it organized and easy to read. These help you find simple errors and makes it easy to make changes.

Well, Thanks for all the advice guys, but still, 'no joy'. Has anyone else got any ideas or should i just give up on online gaming. (Maybe i have to pay PB in order to play online games in the future :)...

OK, I've managed to sort the problem out. If you are running XPPro, open administrative tools, click on services, look for PnkBstrA.exe....right click on it and set it on automatic and reboot, Hopefully everything will be back to normal. This is for anyone who has a similar problem with PB..(may not work for everyone)

Friend of mine had to totally uninstall pb and reinstall it, he got it to work. Not sure what else will fix it. Supposedly whoever made punkbuster updated it so it would run with Vista. Since that time a lot of people have been having issues with punkbuster. If you also notice when you open task manager, there are two punkbuster processes running. One has A at the end and the other has B at the end. Even if you arent playing a game the A process is still running and recording info from what I hear.
