Ok so I'm making a DM map and in it theres an elevator and it moves VERY FAST. I was wondering if theres a way to make it so that the elevator will kill you if you happen to be under it when it comes down. As of now it will just bouce off your head and go back up and thats just kinda lame.

you can adjust the start and stop by adding:

accel_time : 1
decel_time : 1

that means it will accellerate and decelerate in 1 second.

no no no I want the elevator to be as fast as I have made it. Accel and decel = .5 What I want to know is how you can make it kill whoever it lands on. [biggrin]

Doors have a crusher command that will crush whoever happens to be under them when they close. I tried using this command with the elevator but it didn't work. [confused]

Yes, I mean if someone gets stuck under it. It will be used by players, but the elevator shaft will have no doors so in the midst of a fight someone could perhaps back into the elevator shaft and get squashed by someone comming down on the elevator. Right now if your under the elevator and it comes down on you it just bounces off your head and goes back to where it was comming from.

you should be able to add the key dmg and set some value. This will be the damage inflicted. I works with platforms. Give it a try with elevators.

hmmm, I added the key damage and set it to 200 and now I have a death machine!!! MUHUHHAHAHA!! The elevator still bounces back up to the last floor though but oh well at least it does what counts. Thanks for the help foyleman!

I'm fairly sure there's a way to avoid the elevator bouncing back up to the higher level. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how.
Might be a key valled allow_block or something along those lines. I'm certain there's lifts in the game that just crush anything underneath them.

I'll have a look at it later on, see if I can spot anything.
