hi again.... ive recently started a map but have only got as far as editing terrain..even then took a while to get it all perfect. as i just connected a lot of terrain meshs together i did not think to test compile while doing this...now when i go to compile it will hang on triangulating windings and say " radaint.exe has encountered an error and needs to close" or something to that effect, no use for a compile log as it only gets to the first stage. thanks for your help
Unc'

ps does anyone know what it means exactly when it say "triangulating windings" as this may give me an idea of where im going wrong

oh also...a strange question but is there any way to view maps contained within the single player game itself...like stalingrad etc...not to play but to view in spec or anything...for ideas for prefabs .. terrain hints etc

thanks again

hi....

"triangulating windings" means - you have a mistake in any mesh (terrainmesh or patchmesh) maybe it overlap eachother....!!![evil]
the work with meshes is very dificult there are many sources of error....that´s why it´s at any rate commendable to begin with simple projects....[smokin]

ps: i understand ur second question not right-->are u searching any singleplayer-map file?

greetings hayx[idea]

yes but no...im searching for the bsp....which i found in pak4...stalingrad.bsp.( with alot of others) but when i attempted to run it in console i got an error regarded scripting and realised there would be no intermission or anything so figured it out myself but the bsp is there...which is a pity

yeah i figured it was terrrain, but ive seen some messed of terrain from some friends that passed the compile process and mine was perfect in comparison ... i just wondered what part of the process that pointed too
cheers

the triangulating error might be due to too many meshes. How many terrain meshed did you make?

SP levels can't be run in MP. But you can run them in SP ofcourse.. then look around.

place +set thereisacow 1337 +set developer 1 +set sv_cheats 1 +set monkeytoy 0 at the end of your shortcuts target, then run the game. type 'ufo' and 'god' in the console and you can fly around the map without getting harmed.

try coduo maker. i've never compiled from the editor, but i hear it can be buggy. patch meshes are usually a problem for me, by making them too big ending up with too many triangles in it's mesh, but that error only appears in game itself, not during the compile process. radiant might be different and pick up on that error as it compiles
