Seeing as you guys went off topic regarding graphics cards.

I got so frustrated with my system as it has this random boot generator thing built in at the moment! And as I need reliability for my work and not just games I went and ordered a MOBO, 2GB, AMD6000 & NV8800GTS 320 upgrade. I'm looking for a reliability/performance on a budget!

I didn't bother going SLI. Didn't bother going intel. I didn't see the need in going to 640MB version of 8800.

Things should run much smoother. I will be interested to see how company of heroes look in directx 10. I'll load vista on a separate HD just to see how it looks? I'm guessing the 640MB version would improve directx10 games (not that theres any out there yet beside company of heroes).

I hope to get the COD2 FPS booste stryder was talking about. What is your hardware configuration that you have with your graphics card stryder? to get that 280 FPS. Hopefully I can get better mapping performance.

I must admit, my current system is almost 3 years old

i drew a line in the sand and basically said i am not going to be going with vista any time soon...and here is the trade off

though my card configuration is vista ready - it does not support dx10

that said i have an ati x1950CF paired with an x1950xtx

i have the option to add a third card for physics, though i am not sure how many games are going to come out with anything that would require this

i have always been a fan of the ati chipset, and having read into the pros and cons...and differences of the sli vs crossfire - and there are differences - i stuck with my tried and true ati chipset

I recently purchased a new ATI X1300 PRO with 512mb. This has upgraded my old graphics card which had 128mb. Yet my fps still remains the same. Any special way to bring up the framerate? Thanks
