hi am new to doom 3 and am having problems with the custom weapon tutorials supplied by birritan

i completed the 5 tutorials ive created my model ,animated it ,script it ,textured it .created the def file and i think all is ok but when i place my new weapon into my doom 3 map and run the map i get a problem which is when i walk over to pick up my weapon it gives me bullets instead of picking up the actual weapon and the text message "bullets" is displayed like in the game when a player picks up bullets !

Does anyone know what i did wrong and how to fix this plz?

I hope that birritan is subscribed to this forum to assist.

I'm not sure of the problem, but I recommend that you recheck the def file. It seems like the def is telling the game that your new item is some sort of ammo rather than a weapon.

ok i was doing something very stupid i didnt have my models and materials folder in my new pk4 file so now i can pick up my weapon but birritan didnt say do that unless am going deaf and blind! ha

but i still have that problem with the text message "bullets" been displayed when i pick up my weapon and ive recheck the def files ive my player def file and weapon def file i still cant find the problem!

thanks anyway foyleman i think myself the problem is in there so i keeep looking!
