'CTRL + K' is the command used in CoD and CoDUO to 'connect' vertises. As Derix already said, CoD2 uses 'W' for 'weld'. You must unlock a vertise (the red vertises) in order to move them, you do this the same way as locking, select the 'unlock' toolbar icon and drag you cursor over the vertise.

Hello Rasta and others,

I thought that "welding" two patches with "w" would result in one bigger patch. If I weld the patches they are "aligned" properly but are still seperate patches.

Is there a way to create one patch using two smaller ones?

The answer has already been given. The W Key is used for welding vertices together. So select a vertex then you want the next vertex to weld to. Selecting the right vertex first is key because the first vertex you select is the spot the second one you select will join to on the 2d view. Once you have both vertexes selected press W and your 2 points will join as 1. Keep in mind the 2 points are still there as seperate but just at the same point in origin. If you drag either of the brushes alone it will pull apart.

Thanks Sherlokpwnz but what I wanted to know was, is there any way to permanantly join these two together?

No there isn't. At least to my knowledge there isn't and I have never figured out a way to do that. But if you want it to be big then you can just do a terrain or curve patch with 15 height and 15 width and just spread it out. If you have to snap the vertices to the grid so it's even.

You can join two or more patches together as long as all the verts are connected in the way above. You then select the patch and hit 'W' again, this will weld them into one patch. Just remember the maximum size of a patch is 15x15 so if the total vert of the patches you select will exceed that once they are connected it will not work.
