Ever since the clan beta I've been hearing nothing but bad reviews.

My friend got the FilePlanet key and he said the game is horribly laggy even with 76 ping, vehicles stick to geoemtry, and the overall game is horrible - it's like a "quake 4 mod with a really good UI". "Enemy territory 1 is far more fun".

He's a game development student who just graduated so I take his word on QW design to be credible.

Since I am getting my hands on the beta right now, I'll let you all know what I think of it (after a quick test). I've been playing Battlefield 2142 for a while and can use that as a comparison (which I am sure this game was meant to overtake).

I realize that this is just a beta and does not reflect the product that will be launched. However, I expect more from the game other than what Sparks just stated.

Well, I couldn't even get the key under two reasons.

I don't have a paypal account to get a fileplanet account.

I am on a stupid laptop via Hard drive took a s***.

I played for 10 minutes (now back to work). It's not bad... but there is some lag like Sparks said. But hardly enough to call it crap. It was hard to find a server that wasn't full regardless of what the player count said. I joined one with 100 ping and it was unplayable. I joined one with 50 ping and it was fun.

It still feels like quake. Perhaps too much like quake. This is going to make it feel like a mod of Quake 4.

I need to play it more to make a better judgment of the game.
