Okay i just put a prefab in my map its the one field headquarters. I save my map and then I compile, then when i start to run it i get an gsc error. I didnt get this error untill i put this prefab in. Can anyone help me? [confused]

oh yes btw the gsc file error is in line one it says. But there was no error untill i inserted the field hq prefab from the corevillers folder inside the prefab one.

Someone else may know exactly what to do here but this is what you can do while you wait if you want....plus you'll see how I.W. prefabs are constructed.

[Save a copy of "fieldheadquarters.map" under a]
[different name and try deleting stuff you don't need.]

::::To make a prefab copy under a new name::::

1. Open "fieldheadquarters.map" and "select all" ( the " I " key) to hightlight everything.
2. Click "File" and click "Save Selected".

3.Locate a place you want to save it (your personal prefab file folder if you have one),
type a new name for it and click "Save".

4. Hit "Escape" to deselect everything and close
the "fieldheadquarters.map" . (DO NOT Save Changes if it asks)

5. Click "Open" and find your newly renamed prefab and delete all the unecessary stuff.



{{{:::fieldheadquarters.map has::::}}}}

1.BCS clips and with light blue cubes. ( I have no clue what those do)

2.Lanters that may require some sort of script.( not sure about that)

What is the actual gsc error your getting? There should be a line in there that tells you what the problem is.

Did you remove all mods and custom maps from your /main file? If not then do so.

I see this problem posted all the time.

What I normally do is extract a copy of "_load.gsc" into "main\maps\mp". This way when I run my map from the GUI compiler for testing, and I'm using the lantern prefab, the effect for the lantern is called out from the compiled maps directory, ie; "main\maps\mp\_load.gsc".

This is just one way to bypass this problem.
