I thought I'd be the only CoD-phile on Earth that is totally un-enthusiastic about CoD4, but I guess Tim is drinking the same kool-aid that I am. As I've said elsewhere, the Special Forces vs. Terrorists plot-line has been done to death, even within the context of CoD (in the form of the Revolt mod). I've already played Counterstrike, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six and a few other titles, so rehashing a familiar -- and frankly, tired -- theme with some new bells and whistles just isn't all that appealing to me.
And I have to agree that, from the screenshots, CoD4 looks more like a "total conversion" mod of CoD2. For what I've seen so far, it doesn't even look as good as F.E.A.R. or Half-Life 2. Those games will be around two and three years old, respectively, at CoD4's projected release date. That's not terribly encouraging, especially since CoD4 will be competing against Crysis, Quake Wars, and UT3 for gamers' time and money.
But, I could be wrong. Maybe CoD4 will bring something innovative and addictive to the table the way CoD1 and UO did in a market already drowning in WWII first-person shooters. If it's just CoD2 in a new suit, though, well ... the hell with that. |

Amen.... *Nuff Nuff*
Lol, you're right. The graphics look's like the same as COD2, but with updated Models, Animations.... It's a new engine tought, not just the old Updated Quake engine, hah. If it's getting boring with Tactical Modern Day games, it's always possible to make a WWII mod:D Dahooi!

There's no such a game that can beat Half Life 2 and Far Cry.....IE: Crysis, the coming game...

Quote: I think Activision made a giant step from WWII straight to Modern Warfare
To me, they should of done something in-between.
That's an interesting idea, one that I hadn't thought of.
Are you thinking of a Viet Nam game, or something else?
