So whats the point here?

I mean why have a "showtris 1" that only shows what you can see if the engine is drawing more?

Check this out, I made a test map.

It is 4 rooms, seperated by doors - next to it is 4 other rooms seperated by doors - the doors on the left have portals, the ones on the right dont.

this is "r_showtris 1"




this is "r_showtris 3"



So what is the point of the "showtris 1"? It doesnt help you optimise. Or is "showtris 2" forcing the engine to draw more?

I haven't come across a need for showtris 1. However, if I were working on a large map and wanted to see the division of juwst the room I was in without interference of surrounding rooms, then maybe.

I don't know. But it's nice to have options even if they aren't needed.
