Knowing that the CoD Radiant... is not the best when it comes to being able to move around and such, I decided to make a small little test. When I compared CoD Radiant to another mapping program, I was shocked to see the resemblance! To put it to the test, I made a single brush-model map and saved it using GTK Radiant, and opened it in CoD Radiant(Using textures from CoD, of course) and it worked!!
Both GTK Radiant and CoD Radiant use the same .map file system and all, but GTK Radiant is -ALOT- better. Of course the only things that won't be able to cross-over is the GTK Radiant BSP compile methods, since GTK Radiant is originally used to map for Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, SoF2, and other q3 engines, and the entity parts.

I'm not sure if it would matter what game you use to start up GTK Radiant, but I use JKA on default(I once mapped for it).

Head on over toQE Radiant
and download the latest GTK Radiant version(I'm stuck to v1.3.13 due to computer issues) and enjoy the much better mapping tool thats is alot easier to use!

((When I was trying to link, QE Radiant kept freezing at the ';Waiting" part of the load, so I don't know if its working properly))

If it doesn't work, you can go Here
to download GTK Radiant 1.4 (It's the same editor, despite what game site it's hosted on)

Heh, I've used the CoD 2 radient enough to hate much about it. I'll have to give this one a try.

Thanks for the tip man.

I tried GTK radiant, (i map for coduo), and I hated the camera movement. That was enough for me to stop using it.

Well, I don't have CoD2 radiant, and my computer can't play CoD 2 so I don't know anything about it.

Also, what is there to hate about GTK Radiant's camera movement? You have ffree camera movement by Right-Clicking on the window and the mouse controls where you look and use arrow keys to move in the direction your facing. But for CoD Radiant, all you can do is look in rough directions and can only view things at certain angles, so GTK's camera is beyond better than CoD's.

I forgot to add this but, with recent tests between the two editors, I found out that if you make a map using GTK, and you open it in CoD,make a few modifications(Such as entities) and save it, then try to open it with GTK for further additions, the map will not appear.

For some strange reason, the CoD editor renames the textures that it uses to strange numbers thefore ruining any textures that would appear normaly. Any shaders used will have errors and any bushmodel/entities made will not appear. In the end, it will f up your map to the point where you can't do anything in it. So, as a fair advice, make back-up copies of your map before making any changes in it using CoD Radiant after originally building it with GTK Radiant.

So far, thats all I've done.
