I've alwase been somewhat confused over how multiplayer works in Half-Life 2 and it's mods (DM, CStrike etc) by the fact that there is no destinct option for hosting LAN matches and hosting Internet matches. It's probably as simple as it does both at the same time, but by not saying so I can't be sure what's going on ;)

Problem is, I have a map I want to try out, but when I host I only see my game listed under the LAN tab, and with a LAN ip. And I suspect it having something to do with me disabling and adding my internet connection in the Windows Vista Internet Connections manager not long ago. Because earlier I would have people join my map while testing it during the build process, which was annoying so I had to start password protecting my games, but now nobody will join.

Anyway, how can I sort this out?
