First gun attempt I made sure behaved like one...but I'm not going to dig that up, if i've even still got it.

Just make something fire a load of bullets, and not have a big kickback, and have a wider spread.

I'm not aware of any (but if someone is, I'd love to know about it). The "load of bullets" thing actually wouldn't be too much of a problem. All you'd have to do is set the weaponType to projectile and then add something like this to the end of the weapon file:

\explosionRadius\15\explosionInnerDamage\50\explosionOuterDamage\10\projectileSpeed\3000\projectileModel\\projExplosionType\none\projExplosionEffect\fx/explosions/[something that would look like a shotgun blast].efx\projExplosionSound\\projImpactExplode\1\

The only potential problems I can see is that shot wouldn't disperse as distance increases, and the weapon would damage tanks.

tried this a little bit with a luger, seems to work ok

it's possible by setting fireTime/0, clipSize/8, reticle sizes to high values and using a shotgun sample with a little bit of silence at the beginning as loopfireSound, though it'll probably sound rough.

fireTime 0 won't make it instantaneous, but most people should have a pc that'll play UO over 60fps now, so it should pretty much appear instantaneous

doubtful. cod2's models, even if they could be converted, use extra texturing methods - seperate bump and lightmaps if i remember right. Cod2 also has an extra weapon type called "spread", which is hardcoded into it's dlls so it can't be converted directly

It would be possible to use the cod2 model of the shotgun and convert it to coduo fairly easily, the problems start with getting it to perform like a shotgun in coduo.

The projectile idea seems pretty good and could be worked to perform like shotgun by lowering its effective range, adding colision damage, adding an explosion radius of say 500, remove the explosion .efx, raising its speed to say 3500 or so, mixed in with a little buckshot fire .efx and know one would know different. The tank damage could be scripted to not take damage from the shotgun so that wouldnt be a prob afterwards.

Alot of work i must say and prob 2 years too late IMO to be thinking of adding/making stuff like this.

how do you convert cod2 models to uo?

never too late for UO modding as there isn't a COD game that beats it.

http://www.diegologic.net/CoD/XmodelExporter.htm

This program will export any model from cod-coduo or cod2 and convert it into a .obj file. Animations would have to be made thats why i said its alot of work and IMO its too late to do this type of project, many of the modders and modelers have moved on to other games and you will struggle to find anyone willing to do it.
