Here is render of a Beretta 9000 i made in 3DS Max 8, using a VTM from the the half life section at filefront.com. It has taken me a a week to complete with 2-4 hours a day.

Comment on it, or look at it.

to skin hte gun, you have to map the skin out first, then you can open it in adobe photoshop, save it as a jpeg and then open hte rendering options in 3ds max, then it should render, i dunt know how to map out hte skin, but thats hte just of how to do it lol, gd luck, and if you do find out a tutorial on how to map out a skin, can you share it with us ? please?

lol sounds hard, im just downloading a UV Mapping tutorial from the general modeling section from this site. So hopefully i'll be able to skin it soon. Unfortunately i cant get the gun in-game tho =[ no plug-in for max 8.

BTW, this is my first gun i have made in max.

I have started the UV Mapping for my Beretta. I am still a beginner so it might not look perfect. Also, the UVs arent finished yet so some parts might look all messed up.

Heres tehe gun textured. Its nothing special, since i couldnt get the UV mapping right. Im not good at UV mapping, so i just decided to make it a dark texture, all one color.
