Hi guys,

I get a really wierd effect whenever I run a custom (or a stock map) on my PC. I just got the PC a few weeks ago and it has a killer spec, giving me 1000fps in some places on maps.

The wierd thing that happens is if I run a compiled map, am walking around on it and it I hit the forward and sidestep key together, so to move diagonally, I start to slide. This doesn't stop until either I start moving again or I hit something.

I thought maybe something was up with the map I was working on, but when I start a server and pick Carentan as the map, I get the exact same thing - Sliding about on the map.

When I play on a game server it doesn't happen at all. Any ideas why this is happening??

No, it even happens on a flat floor made out of one brush... Even happens with stock maps. [confused]

You're not alone on this one. My map does the same thing, it's like my player's sliding down a slope or something. It's not a constant thing, meaning it doesn't happen all the time and not on same spot every time either. I don't think it's a PC problem, it's got something to do with the game/mod map. I have yet to find out what's causing this problem [ohwell]. It's no major problem so I just live with it for now.

No, I'm not running SLI. This thing started just recently for me and I never had that problem before. I think it's got something to do with some of the texturing. Ever since I started to try the Alpha blending to blend in the road to the surrounding ground texture, it started to "slide" on some spots of the map. It doesn't do it all the time and not alway on same spot either [ohwell]. It's just a minor inconvenience for right now [lol]

Yeah, I have two 8800 GTX's running in SLI. Another odd effect is that I don't hear the footsteps of the player unless I run the game in DX9 (I always run it in DX7).

LOL, you are running twin 88's in SLI and you still use DX7? I have twin 7800's in SLI and I wont play in anything but DX9. I know that wont fix your problem with sliding but why would you buy those vid cards if you wont push the game to the limit?
