How do I make a spotlight follow a invisible trian brush ?
I got a guard light on a tower that's supposed to move around the yard..... shebby ?

to follow an invisible brush? that will take coding a mod.

What you want to do is parent the whole thing to a func_rotating.

I mean the spotlight BEAM.....not the entire light.

like, a tower with a sticky static lamp, having a spotlight shooting beam down on the yard. That's easy, but you know... move the end point around, as if a guy is scouting/ scanning the area ?

I made a train (nodraw), named it and told the spotlight to aim/target at that train brush. The brush moves around fine, but the light beam wont update, it keeps pointing at the same spot...
Even tried dynamic light... :(

(I am hopefully not confusing this with quake 4)
You should be able to aim a spotlight at a null. So then try to parent the null to the train and then the spotlight will follow? I don't know if it will follow, just an idea while I am at work.

didnt work for me...

I try a low spotlight without the *glowing halo* with parent being the train, and set the angles of the beam real large.... that could give the illusion of the desired effect :D
