Just some animations I've been doing, any critiques, comments or suggestions are most welcomed.

Character Running Animation

Ball Bouncing
- Minor ball snap near beginning, will fix.

Character Body Sync (Talladega Nights Sound Clip)
-No facial expressions, it's a body sync exercise

Thanks.

Thanks guys.

I'm using Maya 8.5 for all those.

I'm a game designer major right, but I've always had a secret passion for 3D animation; not really an animator, but a technical animator. Heh, I find looking at the Maya graph editor and fixing animations to be quite fun and interesting. [thumbs_up]

For my final I'll be tackling a Call of Duty animation (using CoD2 assets). It'll be like the CoD3 CG Trailer. 1 Minute in length with sounds and nice rendering. It won't be first person though, third person based around a German soldier on the run.
I don't know how I'll do the geometry, I'm not the best or even a good 3D modeler. [ohwell]

Thats kool, i've been learning how, trying anyway, to learn to model in 3DS Max using VTMs from 3dbuzz.com. Only thing with those is they were made using max 4 and 5, luckily th layout is somewaht the same.

Generic (Good Looking) Lip Sync Animation (Playblast Render)

Sound clip from 'Anchorman: Legend of Ron Burgundy'. Just a real quick body sync, nothing too special there.

If Foyleman or someone else reads this, if I make a series of video tutorials (about 8+) on using Maya for animation, animation theories, and cleaning up animations... would I be able to get them hosted here via the download section?

They'd range from relatively short videos to medium sized length videos.

They'd also include some source files we use in class (rigged models, animation frame charts, etc...)

I'm hard at work right now storyboarding my final as that's all we'll be working on for the next/last 5 weeks of school.

I've started building my scene in Maya using stock CoD2 model assets and building the architecture myself.
Using CoD2 textures.

http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/733/anifinalrenderko2.jpg

-I'm not sure how to blend textures together, so I'll have to live with the hard edges between the grass and asphalt.
-I'm also trying to keep the scene small in size since I want to focus on the animation more.
-As soon as I get the storyboard into a nice PDF file I'll post her up.
-I'm going to ask one of my co-workers on the Expansion Pack who's wicked good at sound editing to hopefully mesh together some CoD2 sounds for the animation.
-It'll have texture work as you can see already.
-There'll be nice lighting too. A day scene.
