hi,i m working on a mp level i ddid many modification and also compiled them, earlier modification use to b since when runned after compiling .but now sometime later i hav recognise that there r no modification been reflected when runned directly through compile tool or even after iwd is created after compiling.i m confuse to this strange outcome pls help??

Post your compile log, that should tell us why your map isn't compiling correctly.

well i'll send u my log file soon,i'll like to emphasize my prob,it is what ever changes i do in my radient after compiling i get the no modified thing in my level.i faced this many time for my other level.wen i use to get such prob i use to rename my map and use to delete my older bsp file & then compile then it use to work with proper modification.but now wen i tried the same thing for this map once i start encountering this prob,i dont kno is this the write way? & is tat bsp file once created for a map wont b reusable after several interval of compiling??pls help me to clear my doubt.

this happens only wen i try to rename my map and compile it freshly......but on the other hand if i still compile my original map with its respective bsp file it compiles completely but wont giv me any modification in my level when run.pls help as soon after that my level will b completed.

Well... you've got ALOT of errors in your map.

The reason why your map doesn't seem to change when you compile it, is because the map hasn't compiled and you're still playing an old version.

As for your problems:

is the major one, it means there is hole in your skybox somewhere. Go to file->pointfile in Radiant, it wil show you a line which goes through the hole. Fix it.

WARNING: node without a volume
All those errors will most likely cause errors later on. It usually means you've altered brushes extremely, so that the compiler can't give it a volume (infinitely big).
Some give you coordinates, see if you can see anything there.

I am experiencing a similar problem. I was following the video tutorial for beginners.

I had problems with textures crashing Radiant. I cleaned and reinstalled my COD2 twice. Once for gaming, one for programming.

That cleared up the crashing. My programming folder was on the desktop. I finally managed to get through the tutorial. When I compiled or tried to compile I got the following message

I tried to delete the maps and mp folders. No luck, nothing was entered into the folders. I checked to ensure that the path to the map_source was correct. No luck. I checked my computer to see if the results were stored somewhere else. No.

I then re-installed everything and made my programming file the default activision\call of duty 2.... I re-installed the mod tools, in the appropriate location. I extracted the iw_13.iwd file into the correct folder. I copied my old files that I had drawn into the map_source directory.

The map was named mp_foyle. I compiled it - or thought I did. A search of my hard drive revealed on the .gsc file I had created earlier and the original map that had been saved. And the copy map.

so I compiled again and got the folders already exist message again.

what does it say AFTER the line

?

Because ther first two lines are no errors.. they're common lines in a compile log.. because those folders should exist.

I wrote the whole c prompt message. There is nothing. I assume, therefore it is not compiling at all. There is one file copied. Don't know what is it or where it went. But there is nothing showing as per foyle's tutorial. I have search my whole computer for the expected extentions and for mp_foyle*.* and mp_foyle.* with no luck..

I am running Windows XP with and Intel

core Duo Processor and Nvidia card.

Sort of stuck learning other aspects until this problem is solved.

I had this problem once. It turns out that I had an IWD in my main folder with an old version of compile. So when I would compile COD2 used one in IWD instead of one I just compiled.
