Today anti-videogame activist Jack Thompson reportedly blamed the killer's motivation on videogames. We stand by our friends at Kotaku, and say that there is no place in this senseless tragedy for these kinds of frivolous, baseless accusations, let alone such shameless self-aggrandizement.

It is tough to cover such an awful episode, but the outpouring of emotion that we witnessed on the first post proves that we must, if only to provide the opportunity for people who are touched by this, near or far, to share their sympathies and concerns or find some sort of consolation. –Wilson Rothman

oh god...that man needs to get a life

i think that we should all get the MILES system like the military, were you use real guns with blank cartrages and a laser system. then we could all shot each other with out dying, kids need to get out more. kids need to learn how to be responsible shooters, parents should show there kids oh to use guns. this would lead kids to be respectfull of guns. take a hundred years ago, every kid owned a riffle or two, was there ever one school shooting? nope. this would also be a great deterant to any country who thinks of even pondering the thought of invading the U.S. If the U.S. is invaded, the war is going to be won at the Idaho border, because you will see me there with my shotgun. Freedom is not free, and i would like to thank all of those in the armed forces

Well, I really think that Jack Thompson should stop with his useless rage against games...
They just want to have a reason for that boy to do this, so they tell the world that it was this or that blabla...
I'm not sure if you've seen that bowling for columbine movie by micheal moore, but if you have, then you know that even Marilyn Manson was hold responsible for that killing by some people. I think they should stop trying to find the answer to why they do it, and start looking for a way to stop them doing this...

Also, I think it will bring a better feeling to the parents of the people who died there if there will be a explanation, but than it should be a good one and not JT crying that it were the games that pushed him.

Thats really sad that all those kids were shot down in there prime.

Ive read so far that the guy(that killed 30+) snapped because his girlfriend cheated and/or(not sure) broke up with him. Kind of a bad reason to go on a rampage, and kill people who are getting degrees(sp), and are going to become contributing members of our society.

Very sad story, and is definitely something all of us don't want to hear about. Most people goto college to get away from that stuff, and here is this guy going on a rampage.

I'm sure there was more to it than a girlfriend problem. The media and government are going to cover this thing up, put gag orders on the families, and tell us the shooter was crazed, manic depressive, a loner, and a looney toon.

It's what happened at Columbine, they covered it up.

And posting up JT articles only feeds his power, I never understood why people post up about his rants and rip him apart, no matter how absurd his statements are, you're just helping JT.

Read this article about a teacher who sacrificed his life to save his students, made me really sad when I read it (given he's a Holocaust surviver and it's Holocaust remembrance week):
