Microsoft is saying that in 2009 there will be a new OS (operating system). The name might be Vienna, They asked, what can we expect new from it. They said maybe new interface. They also replied it is too early to release information. Also stated expect more news in the next couple months.

Well this just makes me want to skip Vista. I am assuming that the new files system will be in the next Windows and that DX10 won't be a must use though.

This makes me want to skip Vista as well, and I think it is ridicilous that Microsoft expects people to buy Vista, while the people know that a better one will be already available in 2 years or so. This can have 2 results:
1: Vista sells very good, but Vienna won't
2: Vienna will sell very good, but Vista won't

Quote:
Goldman Sachs estimates that, worldwide, consumers bought 1.9 million Vista upgrades in the second quarter and will buy 1.5 million upgrades in the third quarter. The expectation is based on the idea that upgrades will dramatically diminish after the first six months of widespread Vista availability.

While most people will buy Vista on new PCs, "adoption in the beginning will likely be slower than for Windows 95 or Windows XP," Friar explained.
