I would like to also turn off music. The maps that play music are annoying after awhile. Is there a way to do this and add an ambient background?

Look in the .gsc files and pk3 files for the map. It should be somewhere in there... Well what map is it. I will find it for you.

Also which one of those books for modding, Quake for dummies or Halflife for dummies is for COD or is it both.

There is no Cod2 for dummies. I think if you find the music in the sounds folder in the pk3 you also need to take a command out of the .gsc file. Just give me a map name with music in it and I will figure out how to do it.

open the maps pk3, look for mapname.gsc in maps/mp/ open that with notepad, look for
ambientPlay("blah blah blah");
and delete that line, save in to a new pk3, then it doesn't hav to be re-downloaded because gscs can be server side only (if its only the gsc)

Hey killer, You say it can be server side but thats not so. I did what you said went into the map/mp folder and edited the file just as you said and now when people try to connect they go into a loop where it downloads the map so far and then starts over.[banghead] Not good because they don't know why it is happening and I cannot tell them that they have to delete the original to download the new one. So now I have a bunch of angry people thanks[mad].
