I just viewed a video tutorial on how to make a terrain. I fired up the mod tool and found that there is no texture for the terrain in my list. There are many there like AI trigger, caulk, portal and such but no terrain. Is that an addition that I have to download for my version of mod tool or is it outdated tool that I'm using.

Do you have any mods? If you do, then delete them or move to other folder.

Mods? Are you talking about mods in COD2 or for the radiant tools? COD2 is in process of being uninstalled and fresh reinstall right now. As for the radiant tool, it's the original.

Any files with *.iwd extension in your main folder. For example custom maps, new compass :?

it sounds as the editor shows only the tools textures

You are tallking about a tool terrain texture that is for CoD, but don't existe to CoD2. So instead of that tool texture, use calk.

Well now, that makes some sense. No wonder why I couldn't find them. So, using the caulk texture in COD2 radiant tool instead of the terrain textures in COD radiant, I can follow the tutorial video and make a terrain?. What I've done is just followed the link for someone's post on the forum to get the video tutorial on how to make a terrain. I didn't notice if it was for the COD2 or not. Thanks for clearing up the issue

"I can follow the tutorial video and make a terrain?" Yes, just use the caulk instead of CoD terrain texture tool.

But do remember that even though you can now make terrain with caulk it wont show up ingame. You will have to choose some ground like looking terrain brush by using the textures-usage-ground or something similar to see it ingame. Just dont use any that says blend at the end of the name as it will render as transparent ingame.

Also, you dont have to use the caulk texture when making terrain. You can use any texutre you want while making the terrain. You can even texture it with a ground texture right off the bat while making you terrain, just be aware you will probably have to fix the terrain to make it look right.
