Doom3 Tweak

this makes the game run sooo much better and its simple 2 do, u can play with higher res than normal, when i played doom3 i had 2 run it in a small window with crap quality, now i play 1024x768 with full graphics!

made it so much easier, more playable, only 1 bad thing is that the monster will jump out twice as quick which is very bad :P

I've seen options like that and you should probably set it according to your mem...so in theory:

256mb - set to 32-64, might try 96
512 - set to 128 *
1024 - set to 256*

*approximate, trial and error is the only way

thats how i would approach it

i have 1024 ram and i set it to 512, basicly have what eva ur ram

128 - 64
256 - 128
512 - 256
1024 - 512

i havent tried 1024 - 1024 i dont know wht will happen lol

hehe half sh/would work, but i only meant mine for initial test...then you can go up and step off a little, but i doubt you would wnat to try setting it for all of them...what happens is it swaps the cache whenever it does it, if you set it too high then i imagine it will hunt down your page file and that will degrade performance, half is good if you have a gig, less than that i would probably only use partial

remember, if you have a 128mb set for your computer...then i dont think putting half of your ram to doom3 will help overall...i cant say without testing hehe, but remember Windows XP requires 128 to properly run, so combined with other thigns...and non-power users with lower end computers could run into problems me thinks...

following the doom3 specs, i dont think ull have a problem if you play at the settings recommended for your system...trial and error :D
