i got a *play everywhere* ambient rain sound, it plays correct, looped, but it is just toooo low, a pistol shot sounds very loud, but the rain entity is barely hearable, even though its at max volume, 10.
how to make it louder ?

the source file might need to be made louder.

Try boosting the volume to 100. See what happens.

good i found this old one, dont have to start a new post :D

so what about marking the areas where to hear the rain ?
it shudnt be heard indoors... any dynamic play option for it ?

i need to do many rain perpuation brushes fitting the outdoor areas, can i somehow attach the rain sound so that it plays "in" those rain brushes ? that be great...

you're stuck with placing audio and adjusting the distance at which it can be heard. You'll have to place more than one speaker.

And don't make it ambient. There is an entity in there (env_speaker I think) that will allow for localized audio.

ermmmmm... it's an entity ?

the only env_spxxx i can find is

_spark _splash _sprite _spritetrail....

no env_speaker that i can see ??? [confused]

strange. follow the link to the HL2 SDK documentation and it's listed there as an entity.

I wonder if it's limited to the gametype such as single player only.
