ive got a new map which is almost ready to go online

however when i try to test it with this
"C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\CoD2SP_s.exe" + set g_connectpaths 1

it wont load.
however when i try to load it in normal call of duty sp the actors dont follow their paths..

my file is in an iwd..

why is it not working?

that ^^ should become

"C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\CoD2SP_s.exe" +set g_connectpaths 1

that ^^ - no space between "+" and "set" to make it "+set"

my shortcut works fine for testing atm.
its just when i try to play it through the iwd.
i shoulda mentioned before that when i play with the
"C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\CoD2SP_s.exe" +set g_connectpaths 1

thing i get this message in the console.

ERROR: FS_FOpenFileOverWrite: Failed to open maps/trenches.d3dbsp for writing. It does not exist or is in a iwd file.

Sure the .d3dbsp was packaged correctly?

IWD should contain::


Folder "maps" contains folder "mp" contains:

yourmapname.bsp
yourmapname.gsc
yourmapname_fx.gsc (optional)
yourmapname.csv (optional)

---

Folder "mp" (different from the one above) contains:

yourmapname.ARENA

And any other folders: Soundaliases, materials, Images, sound

Open it in winzip or winrar to check to see it packaged the contents correctly


You can test your map without it being in an .iwd - You can test it aslong as the files are in the correct directories. You could try adding DM spawns and then testing in MP to make sure it works correctly before testing it in SP

And you must compress your mp_mapname into mp_mapname.zip not .rar .

You must compress these files using winrar or winzip to the .IWD format, plus the name should not include at anystage the "mp" (from mp_mapname), as single player reads from "maps" this can be left as "yourmapname".

well this is the single player section of the forums and i am talking about pathing, which means that quite obviously my map is a single player one.

anyway i guess i will jus try creating the iwd again.
