One of the main reasons why people upgrade to Vista because DX10, but is it really worth it? Go to this website to see various screen shots between DX9 and DX10. To me it only looks like it has better lighting.

The DX10 pic of the flight simulator looks pretty real compared to the one in DX9. First 2 photos in the forest only lookked like beter lighting.

well of cource its going to look better.

I dont really know if its worth upgrading your card/windows atm i would rather wait..even then if you buy a dx10 card you have to have some beeeeefy setup to run everything on full.

Will be worth it in the next year or so once more games use it.

Yeah that looks nice. But who buys FSX to sit and stare at water? You buy it to fly.

OK, so upgrading has it's benefits, but I am happy with my set-up at the moment. I don't want to have to change OS, I don't have the money for it, or a DX10 card.

That water still gets me though. It looks like a photo. This might sound silly but I honestly don't think that having little bubbles in the water is going to influence me to spend more cash. FSX is way too expensive and so is the hard/software.

Should we change?
If you can.
Can we change? Not a chance unless you have the cash. If you are going to do it, you had better get top-spec equipment.

I've held off upgrading my video card for awhile just so I could jump on the first mid to upper-range DX10 cards. But I need an upgrade anyway. It does look better.
