Due to CoD2's very long compile times im trying to get compliming to run on another comp.

So i installed everything needed on my other box, and can actually map on it fine, just when its comes to compiling. Compiler opens up fine, then when i click on compile the windows opens, then within 3 or so seconds the window will shut down, and doesnt give an error message.

I had trouble trying ti get what the window actually read before it closed, and it seems to close during scanning .iwd's right near the begining.

I know it cant be a problem with the map, becuase i tried a few maps that i have already relased and they had exact same thing happen.

I have reinstalled both CoD2 and Mapping Tools, serveral times.

grab the modified compiler .bat i uploaded Here

follow the directions to install it, and it should at the least tell you why the compile is failing (it inserts manual pauses in the compile process)

i used your modified compiler and saw that the error was that its trying to load a d3dbsp file.

It looks to me like you are missing some prefabs that either you made or that came with the game. The map file has them but the files are not in your comp... or else in the wrong place so they can't load them.

Here is what I'm reffering to:

I'm not sure that that is your problem or not but It might be confusing the editor or something. There is also the misc_prefab that has no model.

I'm sorry that I'm not possitive, maybe someone more experienced can help you out.

I actually have something very silmar, that its not creating the .bsp at all.

At least it doesnt close as soon as compile window opens now anyway.

Yeh but it doesnt seem to create the .bsp to begin with, have lloked over all the settings, and as before i used a map that i have known has compiled fine before.

[wave] i also have 2 computers and i do run on one and compile on the 2nd but i have to transfer all prefabs that i used because i change them ive had this problem before ,so i make a folder and every thing i do mapping ,prefabs folder too, is saved there when i compile i just trnfer all data from that file . if you leave something out it wont be there if it works in your compiler

Finally fixed it. i just copied my whole cod2 folder from my main box acrossto one i wish to compile on, and it worked.
