Ive just installed a copy of COD2 + mod tools onto a laptop so i can continue my map work whilst on holiday. I usually am stationed on a trusty desktop at home, so i emailed myself the .map file to move it onto the laptop.

However on the laptop radiant will not load, i get this error message:

FATAL ERROR: Couldn't attach to window
GetLastError() = 0
An unrecoverable error has occured. Would you like to edit Preferences before exiting Q3 Radiant?

Anyone have any idea what the issue is here? Any help would be most appreciated

Install the latest .Net and DirectX both available from microsoft.com and also update your video card driver.

your map is likely corrupt

never electronically transfer an uncompressed map file without first zipping it

you can try to use fix197a (Here) - but it wasnt designed for cod2

the error may also refer to your renderer....what video card and driver set do you have in your laptop?
