I'm having to deal with the same problem only I just used terrain meshes that cut through a mountain, no path way. The shadow appears along the top of the mountain, tried everyting I can think of.[banghead]

I've run into this problem again and was wondering if anyone has a fix. I've used patchCapped to make a couple of tunnels and this is what I've gotten:

Inside:

Strange that the shadow only goes about the first 1/5 of the tunnel. The rest is fine. I've tried occluder, boxing in the tunnel with caulk brush. making it func cullgroup, script brushmodel, which won't work with a capped patch, you get an error of not all from world. Anything?

Double check that your terrain patches for the snow are at no point touching or passing through the brushes and/or patches that make up your tunnel.

Checked and the separation is at least 40 units. Moved it a little more and got the same result. Would because it's turned there. about 8 degrees, have anything to do with it? Because where it's straight there is no problem.[ohwell]
