My suggestion is, make a simple map... a skybox, a house some terrain and some spawnpoints.

That way you get ALOT more out of your scripts, because you can influence the map itself (altering colours, making doors which open.. making things move around in your map etc..). Alot of things are done in the .map file.. like giving things targetnames so you can call them in scripts... adding triggers to start something in your script etc.

Also.. it's alot more fun to see things in your own map.

3) yes, in the .gsc file

As Capt.Com asked.. I hope you're not thinking about editing other people's maps or .gsc files. Don't do that without permission of the maker of the map.

I wouldn't do that don't worry :)
Just thought that scripts are more powerful than that. Thought that map is only terrain with object on it, but didn't thought that things like light and similar things are also the elements, but rather a well written scripts doing that stuff.

Well.. you can do an afwul lot in scripts... just check out the SP .gsc files...

But... as I said... scripts are only powerful if you have the .map file to actually enter stuff into your map.

If you want to learn more about scripting, I suggest looking at the "moving things" tutorial in the CoD tutorial section. It explains some of the basics. .gsc files are written in QuakeC. A language which uses the same basics as C (while loops, for and if/else loops etc.).
