Hello,

I have COD2 on my hard drive and I downloaded COD2Modtools.exe and loaded it without a problem. I went into radiant for the first time and then the \bin and loaded the needed file.

From the drop down commands I enter:

Textures>Locale>Tools

The problem is when I click on tools I get a default Windows popup, which states:

"Radiant MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

This is the standard popup that we have all seen, when an application crashes. It happenned over and over again, so I tried re-booting and then I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and I keep getting the same issue.

Can someone debug this for me.

Make sure you install the latest .Net, DirectX and video card drivers on your machine.

Hello,

I went to microsoft and got the latest DirectX drivers and double checked through my system that I am using the lastest drivers for my Sapphire X1650 256mg video card.

I started the COD2MOD program and issued the same commands Textures>Locale>Tools and it crashed again.

Before I did the commands I copied all of the text from the bottom and saved it to a file, I do not see a file attachment button for the forum post, so I will paste the full thing as text here that should show you, whether I have a conflict, one would hope.

Don't forget .Net and also make sure you have no custom maps or mods in your main folder.

Not sure how to update .NET

Which folder is the main one ??

map_source ?

I uploaded a little map I was working on and used the same commands Textures>Locale>Tools and it did not crash this time.

Does that help determine what the problem is ?

In addition, I just went to Textures>Usage>Tools and the reentered the commands Textures>Locale>Tools and it did not crash. Is this the error of my ways ??

your main folder path will be something like:

activision/call of duty 2/main

inside the 'main' folder you need to delete (or move preferably) all iwd's except the stock ones. You need to leave those iwds begining with "iw_" and "localized_"

Hello,

My Main folder is empty, so nothing to delete. I downloaded NET 1.1 but it states is already loaded on my machine. I assume that is the latest version.

I am just starting to use Radiant and I am already getting frustrated [banghead]

Anything else I can try ?

It is my mistake there are many many files in the Main Folder. I looked a the main folder through Radiant, which only sees files with its default file extension.

Okay, so I believe all of the .iwd files have been placed there from playing on dozens of different servers with different maps that are being downloaded.

What do you suggest ?

If I delete them all then I might not be able to play COD on these many servers again or I will have to reload them again and then delete then whenever I am using Radiant.

How are you fellows handling this situation ?
