First off don't delete files in there unless you know what you're doing, as recommended above just create a backup directory and move the files in there so you can reuse them as you need them.
Here is a list of the files that should be in your default main directory:
Folders:
players
Prefabs
save
xmodel
files:
hunkusage.dat
iw_00.iwd
iw_01.iwd
iw_02.iwd
iw_03.iwd
iw_04.iwd
iw_05.iwd
iw_06.iwd
iw_07.iwd
iw_08.iwd
iw_09.iwd
iw_10.iwd
iw_11.iwd
iw_12.iwd
iw_13.iwd
iw_14.iwd
localized_english_iw00.iwd
localized_english_iw01.iwd
localized_english_iw02.iwd
localized_english_iw03.iwd
localized_english_iw04.iwd
localized_english_iw05.iwd
localized_english_iw06.iwd
localized_english_iw07.iwd
localized_english_iw08.iwd
localized_english_iw09.iwd
localized_english_iw10.iwd
Once you've moved the files let us know what happens after that. Also note that Rasta mentioned you need .net all you have to do is update your windows at the Microsoft main update site in order to receive it and I have the feeling that this is the main issue.
Cheers

I read the helpful hints thread:
http://www.modsonline.com/Forums-top-22072.html
and it suggests installing two versions of Call of Duty2 on my computer. I inserted my COD2 disk #1 and began the install process, it immediately provides a popup window asking if I want to Uninstall the version currently on my hard drive. I selected cancel and it ends.
Obviously, this is a problem with loading two versions of COD2, one for gaming and the other for Radiant.
What is the suggested work around for these issues ?
Thanks |

Hello Foxhound,
I made my above post before going to page 2 on the web board so I missed your post. Under Main is created a new folder called back up and placed all the files in it. I then copied back the one's I need based on your list. In addition, I copied over two additional files:
iw_15.iwd
localized_english_iw11.iwd
I assume they were missed from your list ?! Correct me if I am wrong. The problem I see happening is as soon as I play a COD2 game on a server I am going to get new files into the Main folder and the conflict issue will occur again.
What is your recommendation for a work around on these issues ?
On a side note I am following through on COD2-Starting video where a simple brush is drawn and then it is moved into a cube. I first click on the "Caulk" button which becomes highlighted and then I draw the brushes. However, the caulk symbol does not show up in the 3D viewer it stays black with the brush lines in white. I have a high end video card, so I don't think that is the issue.
Thank you

I went back and found .net 3 I assume that is the latest version. I tried Textures>Locale>Tools> and then click "Caulk" and drew a box the same as the video, but I did not get the "Caulk" symbol on my brushes ?! Any suggestions ??

I don't mind, just provide me with the commands to take a screen shot.
Quote: I can host the picture if you send it to me. PM me if you want to send it to me and I will give you my email.
Hi go ahead and give me your email address and I will forward you the pic.
Quote: In the meantime makes sure that you have everything suggested fully updated. Can I ask what video card you are using and driver version? Oh, and are you upgraded to XP sp2? I found that having that on my computers really helps.
I am using a Sapphire X1650 and the drivers are up to date, I went right to the ATI website. I installed the video card this week ! I am using XP sp2.
I retried and the "Caulk" symbol does not show up on the 3D view screen, it remains black with the wide framed outline.
Thanks for your continued support. |

Select your brush and look in the toolbar for the button with the patch on it ( 2nd after the Z ) and click on it until you see the caulk.
Also press "f" when your brush is selected and make sure everything is checked. |

Hello StrYder,
I am on my way to work, but I tried your suggestion and it worked. It did not mention doing this in the COD2-Starter video made by Foyle, so I was not aware. Thank you so much. I am quite worried now, everything I try to do on Radiant turns into a big frustrating hassle.
Are most people giving up ?
