Hi all, kinda new to the whole map makin scene. mainly usin prefabs just to get started.

unfortunatly some buildin prefabs im havin that stupid script compile error, maps/mp/mp_map.gsc line 1

yes i have placed the write script in
and i have turned off pure server off

however i have figured out what the problem is, its the latern effects... or somethin, any latern prefab i get, i get that error,

i really am losin it here[banghead]
any help will be appreciated cheers[thumbs_up]

since your new to the mapping scene. let me give you alittle advice. this will help get your answers alot faster. when you get a compile error. you need to list the error here. tell as much about it as you can. you did say it's in line 1. well i don't know what you messed up in line one. you should post your .gsc file here as well as the full error so we can see what you did wrong. maybe you just left out a colon. but i can't see that. so post that info here and everyone will have a look.

go to tutorials section and copy and paste a gsc from there it will easier mate

it meas you have added a prefab with a lantern in it.. do a forum search for "level._effect["lantern_light"]" you'll come up with a solution.

Hi again sorry but ive stumbled across problem


when i add an xmodel like a tank or a jeep or whatever
when i go to test it, it brings up some random sports car

do i need to update my GSC file with more info on the model?
or it will appear as normal models when completed into a full IWD file???

anyhelp appreciated cheers

this means that the model isn't supported by the mp.

Only use vehicles with the word static on the end of their name.
