I decided it is time to add CTF to my map. So I followed the instructions found here on the site.

When I load up the map to test CTF, it loads as DM and I spawn as a spectator half in the ground. This is not where I placed the global intermision. It is the center of the map high in the air.

I did find this posted in another thread here on the forum, however a solution was never posted.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix it?

I think, the reason why you spawn half in the ground is, you don't have a dm_spawn in your map (i tried it on a little testmap and got the same result). If you start your map from the compiler it allways starts in dm-mode. Open Console and type in the following:
/g_gametype ctf
/map_restart
Now your map will startup in ctf-mode.
And place a dm_spawn into your map so you would start at the global_intermission after you start your map from the compiler.

Yep thats right. It'll always load in DM, but just change gametype as was pointed out above, and restart the map, and it should all be fine.

I have DM spawns in the map as well as TDM spawns. They all work fine.

Thanks for the help....but that cant be the problem.

Did you added ctf in your .arena file? Weird question but may be the problem.

Yes I forgot to do that first time I tried running the map. I rememberd when it didnt show up in the list under CTF.

It is there now and I still have an issue.

If you have any,,, try removing any mods or other custom maps from your COD 2 main folder.

Well I'm not exactly sure how I fixed it but it works now. I was working on it and made a few simple changes not connected to ctf.

When I tried compiling, I received an error "prefab at 895 -849 135 has no model". So I looked and some how my Global Intermision lost all of its default settings? Weird?

I deleted it and placed a new one...now the map works!

Thanks for everyones help.... [rocking]
