hi all, loaded my map, made changes, saved my map, xfire came up with a contact, went onto radient, "ERROR" so i clicked close on that errors box, radient went off, loaded radient, loaded map, map says ts theire but you can not see it in radient, loaded map in game, says can't find the map file, i can still see it in windows explorer and to load thje map but it never appears!!!!!

got a clue why ? and pissed off atm can you gues?

If you can see it still then try to make a copy of it and rename it to something else. Then try to open the newnameforthemap.map and see it that works in Radiant.

or try going into your cod2/bin folder and loading the auto save map.

Ok when you lasted compiled your map you should have gotten a .bak file. You can rename the extension of this to ''.map'' and see if you cxan open it in radiant.

If you can't open your map it may be down to things like using CSG function, Using shortcuts like 'ctrl z', Having the 'autosave' enabled.... This renders your map useless and results in you having to revert back to the last 'good' save. I'm sure you BACKUP regually right?

no luck :( tried everything even what you lot suggested, the last autosave was on a different map i was practicing on, the rest of the files are just gone,

i have found an older version of the map, iel just do that map up untill it looks good again lol

you must get a error when you try to load it right ???

if its like a origin withoit a entity you can open your .map file up with notepad and delete it. i wouldnt delete the map maybe pass it to someone else who might be able to fix it...

theire are no errors, just says it will be able to open it from the list, but when it finishes with the egg timer theire is nothing theire just an empty canvas, strange

alright, heres my idea

In windows explorer open up your map in wordpad
(risky, I know, but nothing will be edited)
Copy the whole thing
Open up a brand new map in radiant
save it
open up the one your saved in wordpad...
delete everything in it
paste the previous one
Save it,
try opening in radiant

Its my best shot at least

post a link to the map file and let us have a look....

he might not want to distribute his map file to the public, I know i wouldnt give mine to anyone
