Dunno. All my problems happened with the nVidia one.... Maybe got unlucky.

it was previously announced that DX10 would be 'vista-ONLY' .. and HALO3 would be 'DX10-ONLY' (thus making it a vista exslusive)..
..but it turns out that ATi and nVidia won't be able to manufacture enough DX10 cards in time for Halo3,
so when Halo3 launches as a 'DX10-ONLY' game then there won't be a big enough market for the game.

--> so XP users get a break: we get DX10 renamed as DX9-"L" so we can play DX10 games on XP w/DX9.
(and there's one less reason to buy Vista anytime soon). hooray.

Not really sure what to think of it since it is, as you so elequently put it, a "castrated version" of DX10. Makes me wonder just how far from real DX10 it'll be. wonder if it'll be something like ME where it's only functional enough to give them the time they need to get the cards out there, after which, rather than acctualy making it better, they'll just say you need to upgrade.

So there's my consperiacy bit.

I've yet to see any DX10 games that tickle my fancy so right now I don't really care if I'm right or wrong.
