Unfortionately, people are still going to go towards those big macs. Some of them might even ust assume that because of the trans fat ban that they can eat more of it.

On my campus they recently started advertising how they cook the fries in an oil that doesn't contain any trans fats. Life seems so much healthier now

Whats the point of eating heathey if you are just as fat as before the ban on trans-fat.

thats just it.  nobody's banning the Big Macs.  they're just banning the oil that cooks the french fries.  
seems kinda crazy to ban a 'cooking medium' and not an actual 'food'.  
--> why not ban mayonaise, or hamburger grease, (or that 'secret sauce', whatever the #### THAT #### is)?  
this is obviously not based on "health" or "safety" concerns (or they'd ban the Big Mac right along with the cooking oil).

if they really want to eliminate 'trans fat' from the american diet they should start with 'margarine' at the supermarket;
not 'cooking methods' at restaurants margarine is the root of all evil coronaries. and yet its perfectly legal
