I fee sorry for anyone that goes to buy an OEM PC after Vista comes out. They probably won’t have the option to go back to XP. So my advice is if you want an XP PC do it soon or you might get stuck with Vista.

As for my self I don’t want Vista at all but because I work in the Tech industry I will to learn it soon and become an expert on it. *Shudder* some one save me now. I have seen the beta lots but have refused to touch it but they have officially begun training in the OS so it won’t belong before I find my self sitting behind a Vista PC at work.

Honestly, I'll reserve my opinions until after its been out for a while, here what more impartial sources have to say about it.

Actually you'll probally see XP stay on the market for the next year or so, OEMs can keep selling it for a year or two before contracts expire.

ok we have all have an option on this, but to sum up i think and some of you may agree:- win95 the start of the family, buggy but the start. win98 the start of something good, but still buggy still on a learning curve, win98 se2 better with usb support, getting there. win me mmm lets not talk about that one. win xp what win95 should have been. win xp 2sp the best of the bunch to date and i think people will would like like to hold on to, until win vista can really prove it can take the windows gui platform crown................ you may or may not agree with this, but its just a personal opinion from person experience.

I work for a large OEM and all of there new PC's at least on the consumer market will be Vista shortly after the official release. The same thing happened when XP was rolled out. The only way you will even receive support for XP is if your unit originally came with it.

@ ctx1769 : Yes it is true that Microsoft has slowly been making improvements and up until now it has for the most part been worthwhile upgrading. The biggest difference between this change and ones had in the past is the little understood DRM aspect of it the Vista. Most of the nasty parts of this come out later in standards that are coming down the line. An example is what they plan to do with HD DVD/Blueray I will let you look that one up your self. I love how this tech comedy puts it.

It did seem to make less sense than usual...  Though I only skimmed it.
