Oh .. when you said GPS mouse I almost thought that mouse would update the mouse cursor on screen by determining its position on your desk via GPS  :D

Wow...i didn't know you could get GPSs so cheap these days.  My Grandpa has had a GPS hooked up to his laptop for a while and it pretty cool.  He dont get lost that easy. :p

I might have to get one of those these days...

Woah. A GPS mouse? I've never heard of that either. Weird. Did you actually have any task in mind when you bought the thing? :p

We have a GPS unit in our boat, but it's a rather cheap one, and it's also our sonar/fish finder unit, so we don't use the GPS features alot. My dad's b-day is coming up though, and were buying this killer GPS unit for the boat. Gonna be sweet.

@Madman: Pot-kettle, brother, pot-kettle.

@Paracyte:  Too outdoorsy, and you have to put stuff back.  No thanks. :p

@Thilo:  I doubt even the government has GPS units that accurate.

@Alpharaptor:  Yeah, I've been working on a project involving maps for a couple months now, so I had MS S&T (someone else bought it for the project), and I've had my dad's old laptop for awhile now (free), so it basically cost me $50 to get a GPS system.  Not bad, IMO.

@Harles:  Like I said, I've been working on some map-related stuff... This thing would've been useful a few months back, but what can I say?  I may actually need it in the future for mapping stuff out.  In the meantime, I'm driving around a lot, and this will definitely be useful.  I'm thinking of integrating the laptop into one of our cars anyway.  This way, I'll have GPS and all my MP3s, and I may even add a cheap webcam and have a 'backup camera' like all those fancy Acuras and whatnot.  :p

Some of the Farm GPS units I have seen are #### accurate. There was one I was looking at last year at a feild day that was accurate to 2cm on the ground.

I don't know how accurate this one is supposed to be, but I'm sure it's nowhere near that.

Anyway, I got an email that it was shipped first class today, so it should be here by the 7th.

GPS can be accurate to the millimetre.

(Surveying GPS is)

Neat toy anyhow. Wonder if I could use something like that..

Pretty useful things. (Granted surveying GPS isnt like handheld GPS units.)

Basically you carry around a pole with an antenna on the top. And the bottom of the pole is where it takes the reading. Before you had to wear a big heavy backpack with it and there were wires everywhere. But the new ones now is just the pole and its all wireless.
