I think it's safe to say there is no chance (none, zero) that this will ever make games cheaper.  They will not 'pass the savings along to you'.

very true, they already know what we are willing to pay, there's no reason for them to drop the price.

Now if the adds give the devs more funding, and the devs make good use of that funding to make the game better, im all for it.

Don't count on it. In all likelihood, any extra money will just go to make rich folks richer.

As for the ads themselves, I really don't mind them, when they're contextual. What would be annoying though, would be seeing a cloud shaped like a Nike swoosh or something.  

I’m waiting for when we start buying real-world products in The Sims 3, myself. I could this leading there, and that would actually be kind of cool.

See I have no problem with that, as that accually makes the game more real.
It is the other thing you mentioned that im against the nike tick in the cloud. That would be terrible

Well thats exactly what happens, in addition to the subliminal advertising thrown into the movie... Have you gone to a movie lately? They show what always ends up being some five minute long coca-cola commercial that tries to be funny but never is?
