I would not do it. Over in the US if you are out 10 days or more your employer I think gets reimbursed for the sick pay you are supposed to get. But if you are not entitled to sickpay or take a vacation they get to keep the money.

I can't even imagine a 4-week-long headache, thats crazy! I hope you're find the source of the problem soon and get it treated asap!
