I've heard from someone on Q3ACN that John Romero is going to make new FPS games. Years ago John Romero left id Software for Ion Storm. Ion Storm died in 2005. And we don't know where he is now.

There's a fairly recent interview with him here. Apparently he's convinced MMO games are the way to go (or so rumour has it that's what his latest company is doing). Just a couple of years ago post-Ion Storm, it was games for mobile devices. It seems he can't make up his mind which way to go after id...

What does "slipgate" mean? Does it have anything to do with Quake1's first level "Slipgate Complex"?

IIRC in Quake1 they used the word "slipgate" to describe the governments new "teleportation" technology
