Thanks.  Being 19 is a lot more useless than I ever expected.  Especially here, where the only girls you see out of uniform are either too old, too young, or too religious and everybody could already drink at 18.

All girls 18-20ish and all guys 18-21 need to do the army or, if they're too religious, they need to do National Service.  If they're in the army, I won't see them.  If they're in National Service, they're too religious to even speak to me.  So it sucks.

It might have been, but I know there was at least one Jewish officer in the French army in the 1890's and that Jews were just as required as anybody else to serve in the Russian army in the early 1900's.  Not to mention it's the army of the Jewish State, so it would be sort of counterproductive not to have Jews in the army.
