I'm on my laptop right now, posting from a very basic web browser called "Links" in the Gentoo Linux LiveCD. This is freakin' awesome, I love this terminal, you can do anything with this when you know what you're doing. I'm slowly learning the commands.

Anyone here a Linux fan?

Not a fan, but I did install Ubuntu on my PCa couple weeks ago.  Linux is cool and all but I don't know what I'd do with it.  I'm like alot of people who are curious but not enough so to learn the complexities of installing software and drivers.

I've done a few gentoo installs.  I even tried to make an autoinstall script for it. I never got it, yet, to work right. I wanted to install it on my laptop but it doesn't like it.

I have Kubuntu installed (KDE version of Ubuntu). Pretty useless to me though. I can't get my wireless card to work with it. Even if I could, I wouldn't have much use for it either.

I have an Ubuntu install on a partition of this PC.

It comes in handy once and a while, and it's a cool novelty, but I'm just too deeply engrained into the Windows way of doing things to switch over.

My goal was to get a copy of a linux OS and learn how to use it so I could better function as a server admin.  However I can't download the torrent file because it requires an NTFS drive and the drive with the most space is not NTFS.

Gentoo supports most (if not all) wireless cards, and a degree of WEP security also...it theoretically should support WPA too, but I'm not sure if there's an option in the GUI for that or not.

Maybe I should try that then... I wasn't having any luck with my PCI wireless card with Ubuntu.
