Bah.  It's unlikely.  Bush needs approval so that there can be another republican to take his place and continue his work.  If he could lower Gas, he would.
Personally, I think the world oil supply is nearly gone and they know it.  It's a frantic panic at the moment because they know that in 10 years or so there won't be any more oil left to pump and if that happens, the world as we know it will stop unless we find something more useable.

Though I don't agree with/believe this; it's the most plausible conspiracy theory i've heard.

Politicians everywhere are the same. Only reason the US is always being critizised is because they actually DO stuff.

Oh well I have that, but I further think about it using logic and dispute most of them.
However when I can no longer trust my logic, THEN I'll be afraid.
