In case you are unaware, Most of the persons who blew up abortion clinics and/or shot/killed abortion doctors refered to themselves as "Soldiers of God".

Just a thought...

P.S. Hi guys :p

Hey.  Long time no see, Blacksmith.

As for this story... All I can say is that my Dad is in the Sears Tower on a regular basis... So I hope this was either a foiled plot or fake...  And that no one else gets the idea in the meantime. :(

<cackle... wheeze>

Ugh, well...  No immediate threat, eh?  Okay, I agree, let's wait until the timer is set on the bomb so we can be sure they are serious...  We also should wait until the pedophile has the underage person's clothes off.

I also always believe everything the defense lawyer says.

Hey!  if it makes you feel better and gives you a chance to smack back at the 'gubmint', okay, I'm wit' ya!

Food for thought:

Timothy McVeigh...

decorated bronze star from the Gulf War.

turned from a republican to a democrat

became a transient.

was stopped by the police for driving without a license plate.

(Doesn't sound like a sophisticated terrorist to me... looks like a semi-idiot with a grudge against the government... look familiar?)

Timothy McVeigh was trained by the US 'special forces' as a sniper. the only reason he wasn't in a green beret was because he failed the physical. he wasn't the redneck/idiot he's made out to be (thats a generalization based on stereotype :p)
and, oh yeah. he had a bomb.

p.s: did you click the link from TIME?

Fevered minds can be very dangerous, of course. But the threat they present is quite different from that of transnational terror groups. After all, the government appears to have had no problem infiltrating and exposing this group, which was hardly making itself inconspicuous or impregnable — unlike the New York subway plot reported in TIME this week, whose perpetrators slipped into the U.S., conducted their surveillance, prepared the operational details of poison gas attacks, then aborted them on instructions from al-Qaeda leaders and departed America, all with U.S. security none the wiser.

http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1207412,00.html

busting homegrown idiots because they agree to recite the "pledge of al queada" when they have NO MEANS TO CARRY OUT A CRIME IN THE FIRST PLACE isn't keeping you guys any safer, "In Reality" (there's that word again);

In Reality ™ you've got... "perpetrators slipped into the U.S., conducted their surveillance, prepared the operational details of poison gas attacks, then aborted them on instructions from al-Qaeda leaders and departed America, all with U.S. security none the wiser."

^^ I see nobody's busting them.  and they have the means to carry out the crime.  they have the opportunity.  and they have motive.

these cases of"homegrown" terrorism lack means and opportunity. they're based on HYPOTHETICAL situations; they''re not REAL situations (which would ever have a hope to take place in reality); these people are being busted for agreeing, in concept, to take part in somebody else's plan.. which didn't really exist.  it was an undercover sting based entirely on fiction)*

meanwhile.... "real" threats are allowed to pass undetected ???

and yeah Timothy McVeigh was a "real" threat.   he was trained to kill by the US military.

--------------------

* self-stimulation to the point of masturbation.  the department of homeland security is wanking itself.  so to speak.
(generating "fear" from "fiction", so it can be useful and combat the Fear)

(creating work for itself out of nothing)

Yeah, I think there were sniffs of this from the beginning, and later the story came out.  These guys (seemingly, anyway) had a lot of BAD ideas but no way to make them actually happen.

since when do we bust people for "ideas"?  that seems like a slippery slope.

(once a legal mechanism is in place to bust people for "ideas" then it won't be long before its used against 'political dissidents')

Nobody was busted for an idea!

Nor can it ever be said that they didn't have the future ability to commit the acts.  How many terrorists are independently wealthy, or have personal stockpiles of weaponery.  There are people and organizations, willing to supply and fund the idiots (like the 9/11 hijackers) to carry out the act.

They were in process and soliciting.  The fact that they solicited a FED is a distinction with no difference.  Just like they have female, police prostitutes walking the streets busting Johns.  They don't have to see if the potential John actually has the money.  All they need to bust them is a verbal commitment to exchange money for sexual service.

That's it.  Get it.

I can't believe that this idea goes over so many heads here.
